Dust and Gas Emission Management

DEC 27-29, 2024
3 Days

The purpose of this course is to provide general instruction about the control of gaseous emissions and dust (particulates), as outlined by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The control of gaseous pollutants from industrial sources began with efforts to recover useful raw materials and products entrained in gas streams. Some of the high-efficiency pollutant control techniques in use today had their origins in the 1940s and 1950s as low-to-moderate efficiency collectors used strictly for process purposes.

Starting in the 1950s and 1960s, control equipment for gaseous pollutants was used primarily for environmental purposes. The environmental control programs were stimulated by concerns about (1) possible health effects, (2) apparent crop and vegetation damage, and (3) the impact on buildings and other structures.

This course aims at the fundamental, primary knowledge for everyone who has a concern about environment. The course Modules have been designed to quench the thrust of knowledge of a person, let it be a scientist, an engineer or anyone who is concerned about protection of environment and thus a well-wisher of society.
